Montreal¡¯s underground walkway celebration, 2nd edition
Sunday, February 25, 2007

Up to 750 people will take part in an unusual footrace that will wend its way through five kilometres of corridors, tunnels and public spaces in the indoor underground city. The runners will have to climb up and down more than 1,000 steps! Since its inception in 1962, the protected pedestrian network (R¨¦SO) has not stopped growing, and is today 30-km-long. It provides access to almost one hundred different buildings within the downtown area, of which two thirds are office towers, some having important shopping complexes. The network includes extends over various levels, half of which are underground.
